Solar power plant to cost extra $25 million for tortoise (12/29/09, not in CCTimes)

25 so-called endangered tortoises are costing $25 million to move so that a new solar power plant can be built in California.

We here at CCTimesWatch will take credit for “told you so” when we blogged that enviro-nutjob rules would make building carbonless power plants near impossible. Now this plant apparently will be built by BrightSource Energy anyway, but you can rest assured that YOU will pay the $25 million in your electricity bill.
