This is a perfect example of how poorly trained journalists are today.
Throughout this story, Katherine uses the term “lose” to describe the effect on government agencies if Chevron proves that they overpaid their property tax.
Why didn’t Katherine use the term to describe how Chevron was “losing” money by paying more than what they are legally required to pay? Is it because journalism school teach their students that capitalism is bad and government is the answer to all our problems?
