Only 5 hurricanes this season. Ice age on the way? (11/28/07, not in CCTimes)
The Atlantic hurricane season ended Tuesday with only 5 named hurricanes, this despite the usual warnings from the global warming freaks at the beginning of the season that this would be a vicious season.
I haven’t seen an explanation from Saint Al on why we had so few. I suspect we won’t. He never explains any [...]
U.S. gunfire leaves child dead (11/28/07, page A12)
LATimes
CCTimes headline writer was in full bias gear today.
This headline implies that the soldiers did it on purpose. It completely ignores the situation these soldiers live under where they don’t know which car is a car bomb descending on them. The rules are simple and most cars seem to be able to comply with them. All [...]
Group sues to end prohibition of gay discrimination (11/28/07, page A10)
Juliet Williams, AP
Wow, was this headline loaded with bias. The group is suing to stop what they consider a poorly worded and unconstitutional law from taking effect.
I’ve never seen a headline like this when some environmental group sues to stop a bridge from being built that would relieve congestion and pollution.
Saying it with a stocking (11/27/07, page A4)
Kudos to the Contra Costa Time for actually publishing a picture of pro-troops protestors appearing at Congresswoman Taucher’s office.
Sometimes the CCTimes catches me by pleasant surprise.
Media miss vital news, study says (11/27/07, page A3)
Theresa Harrington, CCTimes
Theresa took a press release from an anti-war group and managed to make it sounds like news! An impressive, but common, talent among journalists today.
The Mt. Diablo Peace and Justice Center has been anti-war since the beginning. Any event that they support is bound to be biased, including this so-called 30 year study [...]
Sarkozy wins (11/26/07, not in CCTimes)
This may be right up there with Reagan beating the air traffic controllers and Thatcher beating the coal miners.
So what does the Contra Costa Times do? Bury it.
I bring this up because France is only a few years ahead of California with regards to socialists policies.
1) Full pension for many government employees at 55
2) Single payer [...]
Group sues over fourth bore (11/23/07, page A3)
Erik N. Nelson, CCTimes
Are you surprised? Every single major construction project to reduce traffic congestion (and thereby CO2 and pollution) get sued by environmental groups, who eventually concede once their extortion demands are met by CalTrans (hence the taxpayer).
When are Californians going to wise up to this game played at their expense?
When are newspapers going [...]
