Cheney to face investigation . . . (6/29/07, page A10)

David Whitney, McClatchy
David went out of his way here to ignore the good side of VP Cheney’s possible involvement in encouraging the increased flow of Klamath River water for farmers. (Heaven forbid we feed ourselves, we’re certainly not allowed to produce our own fuel.)
David joined environuts in putting nature ahead of human lives, and although he [...]

A-bomb survivors suffer long-term health problems (6/29/07, page A11)

Noaki Schwartz, AP
All of us suffer long-term health problems even when NOT hit by an atomic bomb. This story is a load of crap.
The woman lived 60 years after being exposed to a nuclear bomb. How does that happen? According to environuts you can’t live 5 years after an x-ray.
For goodness sake, the protagonist complains [...]

Iraqi soldiers untracked, report finds (6/28/07, Front Page)

Renee Schoof, McClatchy
Liberals, you can’t make them happy.
On the one hand they say we need to leave so the Iraqis are forced to take care of their problems, then this story says we need to micromanage their military.
Well, which is it?
I suspect it doesn’t matter, they are going to whine about President Bush NO MATTER [...]

License fees may head to voters (6/28/07, Front Page)

Dennis Cuff, CCTimes
Dennis is usually a fair writer, but this story just left out too many questions:
1. Why do Bay Area residents ALWAYS have to pay extra for their roads compared to SoCal?
2. What roll do environmental groups play in driving up the cost of roads in the Bay Area?
3. We pay a ridiculously high [...]

Conservative court imposes its will (6/26/07, Front Page)

Michael Doyle, McClatchy
For goodness sake, it’s a 4 – 4 court with a man who flips between liberal and conservative.
That would make this court balanced.
Oh, and only a lib would consider it cute that a high school student put up a banner saying “Bong Hits 4 Jesus.” What the heck if a few more Mexicans [...]

Cheney’s office may lose funding (6/26/07, page A14)

OK, I’m not sure what the vice-president is thinking on whether his office is part of the executive or legislative branch, but I do wonder where this “obscure office of the National Archives” was when former NSA Chief Sandy “snatch and shred” Burger stole those documents.
Honestly, what war?

Military recruiters see dive . . . (6/25/07, Front Page)

So, the number of black young men and women joining the military is dropping.
If the situation were that Hispanic military recruiting numbers were increasing, would we see that story on the Front Page of the CCTimes?
I doubt it.
