Another false anti-war vet (3/9/10, not in CCTimes)

Seems a fake anti-war Iraq vet has been jailed for LYING and the Contra Costa Times couldn’t make room to expose the lies President Bush and the military had to endure. But when these protesters were front and center they were front and center of the libearl CCTimes.
Story in the Seattle Times.

Obama’s Cairo speech just plain wrong (6/7/09, not in CCTimes)

President Government recently pandered to Muslim’s in a speech in Cairo. Presenting the opposing point of view is Rich Galen, who does a masterful job explaining how the world really works and how it DOESN’T work when the USA stays out of conflicts around the world.
An excerpt:

The American President – who went out of his [...]

U.S. soldiers kill boy after attack (5/10/09, page AA6)

Ali Abass and Jack Donlon, McClatchy
This headline is incredibly misleading. A 12 year old boy apparently is paid to thorw a grenade at American soldiers and this headline implies they killed him for the fun of it. Typical liberal slant on the news from Iraq. At least the reporters covered both sides of the story.

Troops agree: Time to withdraw (2/28/09, page A9)

Lara Jakes, AP
We thought the last paragraph of this story deserved a little more coverage than a liberal newspaper would give it:
“Other Iraqis, however, said they feared the absence of U.S. combat troops could spur violence anew if Iraqi security forces aren’t fully prepared.”
We hope they will be.

U.S. military raid kills Iraqi couple (1/25/09, page A13)

Leila Fadel and Hussein Kadhim, McClatchy
What a fabulous example of liberal bias at the Contra Costa Times, McClatchy and the reporters used by McClatchy.
1) The headline automatically implies the U.S. military was wrong and are guilty of murder.
Of course, in reading the story you realize the soldiers did the right thing and followed proper procedures.
2) [...]

Bush’s plaudits met with anger (12/15/08, Front Page)

Jennifer Loven, AP
It’s so obvious Jennifer was thrilled by the shoe thrower. It was a great opportunity to rant against President Bush. Check out these terms and quotes:
“[President Bush] got a size-10 reminder of his unpopularity”
“whirl-wind trip shrouded in secrecy and marred by dissent”
“the unannounced trip was a victory lap without a clear victory”
“nearly 150,000 [...]

Iraq moves step closer to U.S. exit (11/28/08, Front Page)

Christopher Torchia & Qassim Abdul-Zahra, AP
Wow, do Christopher and Qassim have it in for this war! Check out this opening paragraph and the use of the subjective “long, costly”:
The long, costly story of American military involvement in Iraq moved clsoer to an end Thursday when Iraq’s parliament approved a pact that requires all troops to [...]
